What is World Water Week?
“There is enough water for human need, but not for human greed.”
– Mahatama Ghandi
The international observance of World Water Day is an initiative that grew out of the 1992 United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED).
We at Tapped feel that one-day is not enough to do justice to all the water issues that deserve our attention. As a result we have turned Water Day into Water Week and will take the next 5 days to address a different water theme each day. Come back every day to see the newest videos, public service announcements and guest columns we’ll post here daily.
Also check out our Get Off the Bottle Tour truck map and follow Tapped Director Stephanie Soechtig and Line Producer Sarah Olson as they trek across the country raising awareness for these issues - attending 30 Tapped screenings in 30 days while collecting pledges from people to reduce their bottle water use.
Thanks for coming and please help spread the word – send the link to this page to everyone you know, post our videos and PSA’s on your Facebook page, and tell your Twitter community you took the pledge to protect our rights to clean drinking water and to reduce your bottled water use!
